2 Years of Baces and Extra to go.

On February 13, 2007 I got my braces on and have had them on since that day. Today went to the Orthodontist only to find out that I have to have them on for another year, or so because of a tooth that hasn't come in yet. Now I will either just have to keep waiting or have oral surgery which can hopefully speed the process along....but either way I will be in braces for at least another year. BUMMER!!!

Cinque Terra and Lake Como

This is such a neat little villiage. You cannot drive to it, we did drive on this one lane, cliff road that is for both directions of traffic to a parking area where we were dropped off at the edge of town with our luggage and then Kevin had to go park the car and walk back to us - then we hauled all of our stuff through the town to our hotel. It was a nice change of pace after battling traffic in Rome.

There are stairways that connect three little towns together - we didn't end up getting to the next town we had so much fun just walking around the staircases in our town and getting to the top for this beautiful view. We don't know why but on every roof if you look close there are big rocks. Maybe it keeps the roof tops from blowing away in wind storms.

This is Lake Como - WOW it was so amazing. This is where we had our favorite rooms, but the rooms that Susan and I had been dreading the most. They only had shared bathrooms there and we already thought that we were doing well to sometimes share a bathroom with the 4 of us. So we had really worked ourselves into a state by the time we got there and it was all for nothing. Each bathroom is shared with two rooms - so that was just sharing with ourselves again. This sign did make us laugh. It was posted in the bathroom. For the rest of our trip we tried to only close the door with "Regardness".

This is the town of Bellaggio. It is so pretty!

Magic Cake

For my birthday my aunt Jan gave me a magic cake pan that belonged to my Great Grandma. I am not the best cake maker, but this is not bad for a last minute family home evening treat. The kids loved it! I just love baking with pans that my Grandma baked with in her kitchen. It brings me closer to her even though I never met her. Thanks Aunt Jan!!
